Problem Statement
You are to design housing for the Summer (Las Vegas) and Winter (Salt Lake City) Paralympics
Games located on two different college campuses nearby to the various venues for the different
sports. After the Games, the housing will be converted into dormitories for the respective
Universities.
The building you are designing is to contain 36 one and two bedroom units as well as 12 four -
bedroom suites. In addition you will be designing public spaces including a major gathering room
and multiple lounge spaces. All of the units will conform to ADA guidelines, even though
approximately only 75% of the occupants may be differently-abeled.
Keep in mind the spirit of the Games when designing the housing; they are both a physical
competition and an enormous social gathering of participants from across the globe.
