Project Statement:
The University would like to create a ‘Campus Threshold’ that will be the recognized center for the exhibition &
presentation of the ideas & values that the University promotes throughout its programs breadth. The ‘Campus
Threshold’ will be able to facilitate a broad array of activities, events & performances presented by the campus
community and by the invited regional, national and world communities.
The ‘Campus Threshold’ will provide exhibition & gallery areas, meeting & seminar rooms and requisite
management & support facilities. Significantly, a Quadrangle Terrace / Campus Art Space will be provided.
The ‘Campus Threshold’ will be located at the head of the North Quadrangle on the southerly side of Ferrycliff Farm
Drive between the University Commons, Admissions Center & Architecture Building. Ease of access will be
facilitated by location of a dedicated Barrier-free & Drop-off Layby of Ferrycliff Farm Drive. Relocated Bus Shelters
will be placed on either side of the Drive. The setting may be seen as a ‘Threshold’ to the entire campus and a
bridge between the Academic Quadrangles & the emerging North Campus. Thus, the University desires a
comprehensive environmental site development including all landscape features.
